Let’s board the ship of dreams.  We departed from Seattle where we spent the first 1.5 days cruising the ocean to Alaska. Upon arrival, we would enter the inner passage surrounded by mountains on all sides. The beauty was overwhelming and overwhelming. My journey would take me on land for 3 different shore excursions and the second to last day would bring us to the glacier for some of the most incredible and stunning views I have experienced.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

ACCOMODATION

My room had a king size bed, couch, coffee maker and viewing deck. Feel free to sleep in and order breakfast to the room. Enjoy your morning coffee and breakfast from your own private deck. The bed was so comfortable and I slept so soundly every single night! Each floor has a service attendee with your room being cleaned and restocked with fresh towels and coffee 2X daily. I found my room to to be a good size and it felt like a great space to retreat and relax.

SHORE EXCURSIONS

The ship docks 3 different days and you can book various shore excursions where you can experience Alaska in all its beauty!

JUNEAU: Whale Watching Experience a killer whale swim beside you and visit an island full of sea lions

SKAGWAY: Ride the White Pass Railway through the forest and take in the stunning views of Alaska

SITKA: See Bald eagles and bears upclose and learn more about these beautiful animals

Note: Shore excursions are not included and have an extra cost.

FOOD AND DINING

There is no shortage of food and drinks upon the cruise. From in room dining to the several restaurants on board. Let’s also not forget the soft serve ice cream machine!

Many of the restaurants are included as part of your trip but there are also others that need to be booked and are charged at an extra cost. Regardless of where you eat, all the food is incredible. One of my favourite was Jamies Italian Kitchen ( Jamie Oliver). A few notable ones also include Chops and Coastal Kitchen.

TIP: Hit Sorrentos pizza open until 3AM for that late night craving!

ENTERTAINMENT AND ACTIVITIES

The activities on board are endless. Experience skydiving with the iFly, surf the waves on Flo-rider and even ride the bumper cars in the gym.

AMENITIES

Solarium, hot tubs pool, spa, gym:

Take it the hot tub while enjoying your favourite cocktail. I highly recommend the Pina Colada.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Every single staff member was so friendly and provided service to the highest degree. They know how to make you feel special and leave you walking away with an incredible experience. They are all smiles all the time. They honestly make the trip even more amazing!

FINAL TIPS

This is not the Caribbean so take layers and warmer jackets for when you are on the deck. It can be cold and even rainy.

The cruising days can be a bit rocky, so consider taking something to settle an upset stomach.

Bring a good camera. There will be no shortage of picture opportunities!
